Tracey Di Ciero - WISE WOMEN 2024

For beautiful eyes look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.
— Audrey Hepburn

How wise are you? 54 Years Wise

Where are you from?
Gippsland, Victoria

Bio:
I am married, and my husband and I will be celebrating 30 years of marriage in January 2025. We are also incredibly blessed to have two wonderful adult sons, one of whom recently got married during Easter this year.

I have been a Primary Teacher for the past 33 years and am now starting my own business as a Women’s Empowerment, Holistic Health, and Wellbeing Coach. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit, so I am excited to embark on this new career journey and set up my own business. As part of this journey, I’ve established an *Empowered and Resilient Women’s Networking and Support Group*, through which I organise networking events, workshops, and courses, with plans to host retreats in the future.

After recently completing a Diploma of Auslan, I have also been involved in setting up Auslan Meet-Up events in both country and city locations.

I am now a Motivational and Inspirational Keynote Speaker, and my signature speech is titled, *“Surviving Cancer: From Feeling Alone to Empowered and Resilient.”* I speak on various topics at in-person and online events and will be involved in speaking engagements at local, city, and international events.

I administer a Crochet and Craft group, create crochet products, and teach others how to crochet through the events I host.

In the past, I was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called malignant fibrous histiocytoma sarcoma at just 21. After two surgeries and seven weeks of radiotherapy, I have now been a long-term cancer survivor for over 33 years. I have recently completed my cancer journey memoir, which is currently in the process of being published. I have planned a book launch for the 1st of March, 2025, in Gippsland.

I also host a podcast titled, *“Empowered and Resilient: A Sarcoma Survivor’s Journey”*, based on my experience with cancer. The first episode, titled *“The Beginning: Discovering the Lump”*, is available on Spotify.

Additionally, I was featured on a podcast interview called *“The Thriving Chronicles,”* where I appeared in the second episode.

What about your life would you like to celebrate most?
As a long-term survivor of sarcoma cancer, I celebrate life and the strength, empowerment, and resilience I’ve gained from facing that challenging time in my life. I now cherish each and every moment with those I love—my husband, my two sons, my family, and all of my beautiful friends. I also celebrate the opportunity to connect with and support my wonderful community. Life is so precious; it is a blessing. I treasure each moment, finding joy in creating memories to reflect on, always mindful to focus on living in the present. It is simply beautiful.

I am also grateful to have enjoyed such a long and amazing life, aging gracefully and living each moment to the fullest. Truly, enjoying life and all the special moments along the way is an incredible gift!

Anything else you would like to add about life?
Life is an amazing journey of highs and lows but each experience helps to strengthen us as we learn more about ourselves, our relationships with others and life itself.  The most important thing to remember is that life is all about our connections, our relationships with the people who are in our life, not the material possessions we own.  I also believe there are no chance meetings in life and that we meet people along the way who enter our lives when they are meant to, helping us to learn and grow as we support each other on this amazing journey called life.

What 3 words best describe you in this phase of your life? I couldn’t pick just 3 words.  Words to describe me are Empowered, Resilient, Authentic, Unstoppable, Loving, Caring and Empathetic.

What do you love about this time of life? I love that I am making a difference in my life and the lives of others.  That I feel bold and courageous enough to forge my own path in life and strive for those big goals and dreams I have.  That I am comfortable with who I am and content within myself, enjoying life and aging gracefully.   I especially love being free to be me. Living life authentically and enjoying every minute of it!
